Thank you, Kate DiCamillo, for sharing your gift with all of us.
“What does, then, change the world? … Love, and also stories.”

Finty Williams' delightful performance draws forth the personalities of Beatryce and her companions as they challenge a prophecy's portent on their lives. Her warm, nimble voice encourages listeners to sit for spell and enjoy the company of a good story.

We read this as part of language arts for school and it was such a good read and generated some good conversations about everything from literacy to book making to medieval history to problem solving.

What a treasure.
A story of love, with love woven into each and every word.

Prophesy, friendship, the power of story, and quite an amazing goat.  This is a lovely tale demonstrating the power of love we can develop for one another.  We see how that common love can bring an unlikely group of characters together and drive them to a single purpose. We see how being the recipient of that love can give us courage and blanket us from despair.

In addition to love, this book highlights the importance and magic of story. There is power in literature and having the ability to read and write it! This might be an inspiring book for anyone who is struggling with learning to read, or for those who are resistant to it.

There are delightful illustrations throughout that nicely capture moments from the story and make for a lovely reading experience.  Having great aspirations of being a scribe in my youth (wrong century and gender for that profession!), I loved the elegant first letters of the chapters and that Brother Edik was an illuminator.

This is such a cute story, heartwarming, funny, and bittersweet. Kept me interested until the end, the only downside is how short it is. I tried so hard to drag it out but was so interested in the story that I actually read it in two days lol I was very sad when I got to the end... I gotta to read more DiCamillo books because this one has me in the mood. I love her writing style, and the dreamy vibe her books have.

This book and its characters are top tier. Can't wait to buy a physical copy and reread it!

Wow. What a delightful tale that feels both ancient and modern. I listened to the audio book and have ordered a paper copy so I can enjoy the illustrations.
