I started this on audio and I think my adhd made it very difficult to concentrate because it is so wordy. I wish more had happened and the slow burn is slooooow. I will read the next one but I need some payoff on this romance. I am OVER the Fyren “bad” so we can’t be together trope so I hope the FMC gets over that soon. Cute banter and an interesting story :)

When Osric falls ill, he realizes he needs help from a member of an enemy order. Enlisting Aurienne is no easy task, but he manages it with a hefty donation to the Haelan Order (and by breaking in to the Order's headquarters) in exchange for a long-shot cure.
Aurienne is disgusted by Osric's line of work, but as they work together to find a cure, a surprise attraction forms, and the tension is undeniable.

i was a little confused by the setting here. but besides that i had a good time. i really enjoyed the audiobook but kinda wish i read an actual copy of it to read the explanation of the magical terms.
