the scene where allie asked hannah to call dean & let him come over bc she needs him & then dean storms in looking all worried & goes "baby? what happened?" FAWKKFJKFGJ TOO FREAKING ICONIC. i love deanallie’s dynamic.. i think i expected more from the progress of their relationship though bc 😔‼️ it felt rushed to me.. sure, they were establishing a connection greater than the physical but it’s so djfjdjf lacking or not very well written imo. i feel like they started to lose me when they actually became a couple bc the writing during that part became more of a telling rather than showing. i was waiting for the heart-fluttering inner monologues when they finally realize their feelings, the confessions.. but nada! there’s just these little time jumps & narrations that didn’t really work for me. sorry im just a gurl 🤷🏻♀️ i also wish we’ve seen more of dean loser in love era bc ughhhh we did not get enough of that & that’s what i was most seated for tbh ;( i liked dean & allie’s character devt though !! they needed that time apart in the end bc they surely are a better version of themselves at the ending :)

"I will do anything that woman asks. I'd sell my fucking soul to the devil himself if Allie told me to do it." 💙
I love a hockey romance 🏒 and this did not disappoint, it was a deliciously addictive read that I finished in one sitting.
Dean isn't just a 'bad boy turned good', the layers of his personality, reveal a vulnerability that resonates far deeper than your typical romantic hero. It's easy to write a rake's redemption, but it is written with such genuine emotional honesty that you don't just witness Dean's transformation, you feel it. Allie is far from being a simple 'good girl', she holds her own with a quiet strength that's both refreshing and compelling.
The twist that forces Dean's hand 🖤 isn't a cheap plot device; it's a crucible, forging a deeper understanding of his hidden depths, and ultimately, a more authentic connection with Allie.
The book doesn't shy away from the messy, uncomfortable parts of personal growth, and that's precisely why it's so rewarding. It's a testament to the power of vulnerability, showcasing that even the most charming rogues can find a love that transforms them from the inside out. This isn't just a story about romance; it's about the courage to rewrite your own narrative, and the beauty of finding someone who sees the potential for a better version of yourself.

I enjoyed this for the most part but I didn't love the whole hockey getting kicked off the team part. That was a bit bittersweet.
Their romance was nice though I enjoyed their back and forth. Though it did start off a bit weird because of how she gets into the house just a little off.
I also think she did well to stick up for herself when he was going through a bad time and he didn't show up for her. I agreed with her for that part.

2.5/5
Dean is the least likeable of the bunch. He is a walking red flag, the bad boy trouble maker, and his crude behaviour was not it for me.
Allie is a sweetheart , albeit a codependent one, and I wish she spent more time alone to see her value.
The whole book was basically about how Dean got hooked after a ONS with Allie and was suddenly cured of his commitmentphobia while Allie was deciding if she was too good for a starring role in a sitcom.
Skimmed most of it. Dean needs a hobby. Allie needs to be single.
The mini twist at the end (with one of my fav characters) was a little jarring and I did not expect that at all, wish it didn’t happen, but it did add some much needed dimension to the book I guess.
Anyway, we need to all stay away from hockey boys if they’re anything like Dean.
