It was a good book - wish I had read it first of hers instead of what I did read.   Definitely some trauma triggered topics so read with caution.   It is emotional so be ready to be all over the place.   She does a good job to make the characters relatable and you feel like you know them.

I was worried this book was over hyped but I actually really enjoyed it! Felt very much like a travel/beach read, so was perfect for the trip I’m on. 

I also wasn’t expecting such a heavy topic for a booktok read. I went into it reading it purely so I could read it before the movie came out without reading any summaries, so that was a little bit jarring.

I appreciated Hoover’s willingness to take on such a serious topic in a form that makes it accessible to a wide range of readers.
