So. I've been reading this for over a year now. An awful lot heavier going than the first volume of autobiography. And also - that Satre! (shakes head).

As a woman in her twenties, I cannot help but appreciate the clarity with which Simone describes this era. She acknowledges the failings that are incipient in inexperience, and by doing so suggests a path forward. Her candid representation is essential.

I liked it. Even if it could have been shorter. It is a great insied in the life of Simone de Beauvoir. Her belives and how she forms the world or the world forms her (second part)
