A fun quick middle school nostalgia read. I’m a sucker for the romance of turning somebody into a vampire and the angst of forbidden love.
Honestly I just wish more was done with the reveal that she’s a witch and delving into that but the ending being a little quick is my only complaint.

I think I've begun to morph into an actual L.J.S Smith fan. Why did this almost make me cry. Hello?

Besties to lovers, but make it the tragic redhead paired with the brooding mysterious guy. With a side part of an overprotective twin brother! Make it 90’s paranormal romance teen angst.

this was boring, kind of cringy, and didn’t age well

So, this is my third time reading this book. It’s still a really good book, just like it was all of the other times I read it. Poppy’s character in my opinion though is too trusting and naive. When I was younger though, my thoughts were different. This book is definitely targeted towards middle school/early high school kids; the Night World will still always be one of my favorite book series’.
