A must read. A tough read (make sure you are warm). A haunting series of events after plans are discarded. Follow-up the read with a google.

I can’t believe this is a true story. I read it so fast bc I couldn’t stop thinking about it. What if they gave the oxygen mask to Yasuko Namba instead of Sandy Pittman? What happened to Andy Harris? How did Beck survive?? I still don’t understand why anyone would put themselves through trying to climb Mount Everest. It’s incredible that more people didn’t die since you lose the ability to think clearly at that altitude. AND HOW DID THEY CLIMB MOUNT EVEREST WITHOUT SLEEPING AT ALL???

This book was so good. I had never thought much about the experience of Everest and I was shocked to hear the reality of it. Gripping and so sad. I cried multiple times and I was so on edge waiting to see what would happen to everyone. I can't imagine living it.
