This is the opposite of a spoiler: do not Google Sally Horner before or while reading this book. Let the story settle and sink in. Let it all happen to you. Anyone who follows my reviews knows that I love to do background while reading, so I did Google Sally. I still can't stop thinking about the story.
Rust & Stardust is powerful and affecting, but not for the faint of heart.

This book has been on my mind ever since I first discovered it in June. I’ve never heard of Sally Horner prior to this, but I know that’ll be a name I won’t forget any time soon. I kept putting this book off because I knew it would destroy me, and the fact that it’s a true story absolutely saddened me. I didn’t want to read it, but at the same time, I knew I had to.
This was such a disturbing, gut wrenching story. I flew through it even though I had to take breaks and close the book every once in a while because it was just such heavy material for me.
The entire time I was reading this book, I was terrified for Sally. I just wanted to skip to the end, but even then, I knew what was coming (after reading biographies online) and was heartbroken throughout it all. Knowing that she passed away 2 years after she came home… oh my goodness. It’s heartbreaking to know that such tragic, terrible things happened to such a beautiful girl… RIP Sally Horner.
After reading this, I placed many more of T. Greenwood’s books in my TBR. The way that this was written was incredible, and I’m grateful that Greenwood gave a voice to Sally Horner… can’t wait to read more from her.

One of the best books I have read in a long time. Sally Horner has stayed with me, and her story is so vivid in my mind. The author did a fantastic job of preserving the historical details while enhancing them with a fictional tale. This prompted me to learn more about Sally’s life and I really will never forget her.

Wow wow wow double freaking wow.
This was soooooooooo freaking good and I'm so happy that I was able to listen to this one. It was amazing and still has me living the spooky season. Probably doesn't help that I'm watching a conjuring movie right now but details. I thrive off the spookiness during October.... or any time really.
10/10 recommend. Go crazy kids.
