Rust and Stardust is a harrowing, semi-factual account of a kidnapping that inspired Lolita. T. Greenwood expertly uses multiple female perspectives to tell a compelling, compulsively readable story. One of the best true-crime fiction novels of this year!

it was written well just felt kinda slow to me

For me, i don't know if i can ever give books with this sort of subject matter a high rating.
It must have been hard to write i know but i found it hard to read, and its my fault for picking up the book and then continuing. I just felt a bit sick for most of the whole thing but i needed to read it till the end.

***These are my random thoughts after finishing the book for me to save as personal notes (because I can't see an option to make my review private). Some of the thoughts are an overall review of the book, or any questions/feelings that nagged at me throughout. There will almost definitely be spoilers. Read at your own risk.***   ‐----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Didn't know that this is who Lolita was based on
Alternate perspectives done right
So many times she was almost saved
Sad ending

This is not a joy read. But it’s one hell of a story but maybe not for those who are disturbed by crimes against children. It is a story of survival tho. To the extreme.
