How can a Kate Bishop centric collection of comics NOT be good?? Seeing Hawkeye take LA and start conquering some villains is bound to be a fun time! Having already read the newer West Coast Avengers, I really enjoyed seeing Kate's foray into California territory and begin to establish a name for herself there. There were moments where the narrative felt a bit disjointed or incomplete, like the "ending" of the vampire arc (still not sure what was actually going on), and I didn't really give a care about the old 60s singer dude, BUT it was just fun to read anyways. The art in each issue was on point as usual, and the facial expressions and characteristics are incredibly well drawn. :)

Read for Book Roast's Magical Readathon: NEWTs Exams. Subject: Divination, A Level. (Book with a white cover)

Hunh.

So, apparently my affection for Kate Bishop is directly related to her proximity to Clint Barton.

As a counterpart to him, she's kind of awesome. He's surly and stoic, she's energetic and effusive. They are an odd couple, and it works brilliantly.

On her, own.............

...............................she is really fucking annoying.

Which is frustrating because the plot of this volume is AWESOME. I loved each different situation where Kate came up against Masque. Much like original Hawkeye, she gets her ass handed to her on the regular. She heals up fairly quickly, though. And she meets really neat (and confusing) people along the way. Also, lots of cats.

I basically loved everything about this Hawkeye comic except Hawkeye.

That is incredibly frustrating. But the ending does have me ready for volume 4, so...job well done, Matt Fraction.

Ah, Kate! I love Kate Bishop. I wish I was Kate Bishop. Even with all the trouble she gets into ;) This book was really cute. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would, even with the lack of Clint. It makes me want to read more about Kate Bishop, because I have clearly been missing out :) But... I just didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the first two. I miss Kate and Clint's interactions. I understand why she had to go, but... I'm glad she's coming back :)

I thought that this was the third volume in a different hawked series and thus although I like the character the story and dialogue doesn't have the same draw for me.

As much as I love Kate, I wish we’d gotten to see more of Clint’s progression in his story here.

”I gotta get the hell out of Los Angeles.”

It was fun! And a good story! Fantastic art as usual. But, I don’t know... I was used to following our good boy Clint in these and I didn’t expect an entire issue just on Kate.

Still a great series and still looking forward to the next!

At first, I wasn't so sure about Kate Bishop, as I never read any of Young Avengers, but Fraction and Wu really turned my opinion around by the end of this trade for sure. I love the big brother little sister aspect of Hawkeye and Hawkeye.

Beautiful cover art. The drawing is good here. Kate standing on her own being a hero and taking an adventure is fun. Lots has happened not sure if it's as concise but Kate managed to be a superhero in this series. I like that it's using Hollywood as much as it can and being diverse too like the old lesbian couple with the cat and the very charming gay couple with the orchid.
