This was essentially a good read. Most of it is Japanese mythology with spirits and then the last bit is studies of insects. I thought the butterflies and mosquitoes were interesting, but when it got to the Ants it felt a bit weird. They view ants as highly technological and superior in society. Which is interesting.

An absolutely phenomenal book. These stories are so breathtaking, I couldn't bear to jump right from one to another; each demands contemplation.

Lafcadio Hearn spent the last years of his life in Japan having fallen in love with the country. These stories are supernatural tales from Japan with that something different and enchanting.
