Strikes me as similar to Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow - not in plot but in tone. The vocabulary of this book alone sets it apart from most.

A very neat premise with beautiful passages of writing and fun dynamics with the side characters. However, the pacing felt off (it was tiger too slow or too fast). The big reveals at the end could have been better detailed from the beginning so I actually felt satisfied learning the truth. Either that or I had just lost all interest in the plot 🤷🏼‍♀️

Plus, the romantic element didn’t sit well with me.

Still, I appreciate what the author has put together and I still encourage people to give this book a chance.

This was so fun. I loved the humor, the “man out of time” aspect, and the relatable attempts to explain our modern world. About halfway through, this pivoted in a a great way to a spy novel. Fast pacing kept me turning the pages. The ending kinda broke my brain. But in a good way.

My own inability to understand time-travel narratives impacted my enjoyment of this book.  I LOVED the premise, and I feel it was carried out very well, but I am unsure I completely "got" it.  I hope Bradley's predictions for our near-future are inaccurate.  Loved the 2 mc and their relationship, but also the other ex-pats, especially Maggie.  Can't help thinking this would make a really interesting film or Netflix series.
