the topic was super heavy which mades me take longer to read this book.. i feel like it tried to do the “both sides” bs thing with the court case when it was clear that the main character felt a certain way about it. i feel like if people who are of a certain demographic (those who typically victim blame or automatically side with the accused in these situations) maybe this would’ve made them pause for 2 seconds.

I knew half way this was getting 5 stars from me. Not only did the plot keep me guessing until the bitter end, the execution was done in a unique way.
