This book was so terrible that I stopped reading it several chapters in. I couldn't finish it because there are actual good books to read.
The Host by Stephenie Meyer is an intriguing science fiction novel that blends romance and dystopian themes. The story follows Melanie, a human whose body is taken over by an alien soul named Wanda. The dynamic between the two, struggling for control of Melanie’s body, is fascinating and explores deep questions about identity and humanity.
The romance is slow-burn and emotional, with a love triangle that feels less intense than in Twilight but still engaging. The world-building is solid, and the concept of alien souls inhabiting human bodies is thought-provoking. However, the pacing can feel slow at times, especially with repetitive internal dialogues between Melanie and Wanda.
Overall, The Host is an interesting, character-driven read with a unique premise, but it could have benefited from a tighter plot.

It is an average book. The character are also good and have nice depth to them except for certain characters, who could have been more explored. The ending went well.
It was a bit boring, I think the whole concept could have done better, especially the whole parasite part. It could have been further explored but the book brushes it off. The pacing of the book is also good, nothing is rushed or too slow. This book did do a lot of info dumping.
The relationship between the MC and Ian could have had more development throughout the story. Jared, the character could have been better. He seemed like a typical guy and nothing special about him.
The plot and concept of the book is great, I think it should have just gone through some more editing and changes. Overall, it is okay.

Boooooorrrriiiinnnggggg. I got to page 250, flipped ahead 100 pages and they were doing the exact same thing. The end for me!
Definitely 5 stars! Wanda is so lovable, and the plot and characters are amazing- unforgettable. I can't remember how many times I've reread this and rewatched the movie.
