Enjoyable but at the same time I wonder if it is starting to go downhill. I just some of the stories were too much of a stretch and so many characters and their powers - it is getting to be cumbersome.

I still hate the whole cannibalism thing. But there was a teeny tiny queer moment, and it made me happy :D
Toni is hilarious, and I think Olive is starting to appreciate Tony more.
I am very worried about John though. I like the bastard.

Chew is obviously progressing toward its end game at this point. But this is the first volume of the several more recent volumes where it felt like we were gong somewhere for a reason. While I've always enjoyed how silly Chew is, I prefer that balanced against an interesting narrative and a cast of interesting and endearing characters. I feel like we're back on track for all of that here.

This is the funniest graphic novel I've ever read. And it's not just the chops, Toni or Poyo- it's all the background posters that inspire giggles, chortles and snorts. "The Stabbiest Prison,"? "E=MC Hammer"? Awesome. Love the art, love the concept.
We enter the home stretch of this series and this collection is a fun ride. Tony's sister Toni is more fun in death than she ever was in the earlier issues of this series and her appearance in space plant induced visions gives her death an additional emotional weight. This series is still consistently great and this volume is no exception.
This book was wonderful and weird. It does leave me fearful for the rest of the series as I feel that the authors may get out of control. The book was better than the last few installments
Yay! Toni is back! I loved the various storylines with Tony's family and I really, really like Olive in this volume. Less thrilled with Colby, but we'll see how that plays out.
I love this series. I look forward to grabbing every volume from my local library. The characters are fun and the plot lines are ridiculously hilarious. With that being said, I wish the writers would kill the interplanetary storyline. It doesn't seem to significantly add to the characters or the overall storyline. Was it fun to see Tony and Colby invade a pillow factory? Yes. But it seemed like a diversionary tactic for the most part.
Either way, I can't wait to devour the next volume when it comes out. I'll miss Toni but it seems like the writers have found a way to keep her coming back. I hope they make use of this tactic in further volumes since she was one of the best comic characters.

It just keeps getting better! There’s more Toni, yay! Olive is a badass. Amelia is concocting some epic sci-fi novel/prophecy. More psychedelic chogs and Tony under the influence of said chogs and so much more. Gah!! I’m so sad that I’m caught up and will have to read it month to month. The anticipation is going to kill me!
