This book has been on my "to read" list for a long, long time. I kept putting it off and putting it off for no reason in particular, and I finally prioritized it for 2018. From the opening pages, I loved Jane. I am so glad I didn't give up on this one!

Unlike any other book I've ever read, this one painted a very funny and extremely endearing picture of the things so many young women go through in life with things like growing up, relationships, and finding just where they fit in this big world. While not laid out in the typical fashion, the snapshots included from Jane's life were well thought out and grouped in a way that made for an enjoyable and very relatable read. I absolutely loved the last part of the book with the continuing discourse between Jane & the authors of the 'Mr. Right' book, I think the book as a whole and especially this part gave a very real look at the struggles and let downs and sometimes crazy behavior us 20 and 30 somethings sometimes find ourselves wrapped up in, but doing so without a condescending or juvenile approach that some other books paint women with.

A good, girly, quick summer read.

This is one of a new genre of books that I find insulting and stupid. I like to call them "Romances for smart sluts". Instead of being about beautiful young virgins who meet rich older men who end up giving up their lives of woman chasing to marry the heroine, these are about smart sexually active women who meet "equals" who then act sensitive and want to marry the heroine. She's got some emotional issues to work out before she's ready and he waits for her to do so.

Pffft. IT'S ABOUT FINDING A HUSBAND. Can we maybe write some shit by women for women that's not about finding a husband, motherhood, or the end of innocence? Ugh.

Thank you.

This is the first book I've read in a long time where I wanted to reread it as soon as it ended. I may still do that.

this is the second time i've read this book. first time? 17 years old, just about to go off to college and my perception of this book was altogether more dark and downcast. but reading it at 21 years old was a completely different experience (and i actually laughed more than i did the first time?!) i felt like this was as much as a fictional guide and an actual guide for what it means to navigate womanhood post-college. any girl (or guy) who wants to explore a relatively realistic portrayal of (albeit upper middle-class, new york city-centric, white) womanhood, then this is your book.

When I read the first chapter, I had the feeling that I already read this book. I continued to read it and I decided that the subject matter was just familiar. It was interesting how all the chapters were told by a different narrator and about different characters. If you think this book is really about hunting and fishing- you are mistaken. It was a good book, I read it partcially on vacation and finished the rest when I was at home. Perfect book for those who like chick-lit.
