An actress and her journey as a birth and adoptive mother and the complications of family dynamics that ensue.
Started strong…got bogged down in the middle…lovely ending.
As an adoptee - I have issues with some of the narrative - as modern adoptions are so different than when I was adopted - but that’s another discussion.

I loved this quick, quirky book about family, adoption, parenthood, first love (and first, love), fame, and theater! I thought the dual timelines worked very well; as soon as I found something out in the present, we went right back to the past. Everyone was a little too self-aware (as other reviewers have said), but it doesn't matter. This is a feel good book with some heavy topics. I do wish we had a sequel or a Where Are They Now? epilogue. Very interested to find out what happens next for India, Robbie, Davis, Camille, the Andrews, and, of course, the kids.

Really enjoyed this audiobook- the narration, the characters, the different representation, the message.

Loved it though I must say the book cover makes no sense to me. There are a million other representations or metaphors that would better suit this book. I like that so many characteristics of the main players are minor here when they would be their entire personality in others. Of course this book didn't even dip into the privilege of acting or adoption but a book can't solve it all. Great points, great quotes, and fun when you wouldn't expect it.

This was such a fun read and such a beautiful story of adoption from all points of view and showing that family, no matter how it was formed is complicated.

This was full of heart, love, complex and authentic characters, and gorgeous writing. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to devour it as quickly as possible or savor it to make it last forever. Ultimately, I’m already sad it’s over.

The author’s note at the end is a must read.

I LOVED this audiobook! Incredible narration and characters you instantly fall in love with! Found family at its finest. I laughed out loud but there were also very tender moments. I get that there could be mixed reactions but I truly enjoyed it.
