I was pretty taken by surprise at how much I enjoyed this story. While many parts of this story do not relate to my reality, I found the messages resonated. While all Frankel's books have strong messages, this one really hit for me. I enjoyed every aspect of it, the characters, the emotions, the dialogue, the writing, the plot; it all worked well together for me. It also had some sweet moments I couldn't help but chuckle at. I found myself rooting for the characters, and while predicable, it felt comforting. I really enjoyed the audio, Murin did a great job at giving each character a voice.

India Allwood dreamed of being an actress, but she suddenly becomes the media’s focus when she criticizes her latest film as providing only one version of adoption emphasizing the negative. “Family Family” by Laurie Frankl is a heart warming and life affirming story of adoption and that not all stories of adoption are about trauma and regret.
Frankl does a great job at diving into each one of her characters and creating a fast pace engaging novel that was hard to put down. It is a complicated family drama where family is truly more than blood. Overall a great read.

It took me a while to get into and I was getting a tad bored until a friend from book club told me to just keep reading and sure enough there was a surprise right around the corner that hooked me for the rest of the book.
