Nicole Curtis
This woman has been through hell and back about 4 times. She is a beacon of persistence, hard work, faith, passion, and moving on. #womanpower
I was a fan of Nicole's show & thought gee to be very likable on it. She isn't as likable in the book. The stream of consciousness writing was very hard to follow. Even as a fan of the show I had a hard time keeping the time frame straight. I would have liked to have more stories about the houses themselves.
Easy quick read for fans of the show. I liked the lessons she learned from renovating homes, particularly the ones stemming from her grandparents, but disliked how she used her relationships to frame eras of her life (though the two are incredibly intertwined, so understand how separating these would be challenging!)
Nicole Curtis is the brain behind the HGTV show Rehab Addict. I love her determined spirit when revitalizing dilapidated old houses and the way she brings them back to life. This story highlights those experiences and the trials of life that she has endured along the way. A recommended read for anyone who looks for hope in unexpected places.
I loved watching the Minneapolis shows of Rehab Addict and loved Nicole Curtis, so when this came across my hands at work, I thought--Why Not?
And I'm glad I did. She writes just like she is in her show. In this book she gives a bit of background to her life prior to the show. Her midwestern values of working hard. Nicole is definitely a strong, determined, honest, independent woman. She knows what she wants, and works towards that goal. Always looking to the what is possible, not what is going wrong.
It was interesting to learn the events that lead to the Rehab Addict show. Balanced with stories of her real life along side.
If you are a fan of the show, you should read this.
If you are a fan of women who are strong, powerful, resilient then you should definitely read this.

Nicole Curtis is enigmatic, and energetic. Her life hasn't always been roses, but there are a few things that have remained steadfast. She is fiercely loyal to her family, and extremely passionate about old homes, old people, and old dogs.
Her book was a wonderful mix of heartwarming, sad, and inspiring. It was great to read some of the back stories to some of my favorite season of Rehab Addict. Her quips of wisdom were inspirational.
A definite must read for any fan of Nicole's.

I liked hearing her story from her. She's just a normal gal who found her passion and stuck with it. Good for her!
Enjoyed this behind the scenes glimpse into Rehab Addict. I wish there had been more attention given to the projects/houses/designs seen on the show. I would have enjoyed more pictures and more background on the work she did which led up to her being offered the show.
