At first I was kinda frustrated that this was listed as a sequel to Howl's Moving Castle because I didn't see how they would connect at all. Alas, it really is a sequel, so just be patient. Howl and Sophie show up eventually.

The fun writing style and humor from the first book is all here too. The storyline is all totally different though, so it's all fresh book with familiar characters (eventually). Would recommend.

Once Howl and Sophie joined the story I began to enjoy it much more- I’m glad I stuck it out really. Now I really want to watch Howls moving castle xD

This was an enjoyable book that I read a couple of years ago after reading Howl's Moving Castle; a book that I didn't realize until years later was the inspiration of one of my favorite movies. However, as a sequel to that it left a bit to be desired. I feel it would have been better suited as a standalone novel for any reference to the previous book didn't come until far later. Still, I enjoyed it and still give it 3 stars.
