A short book.

It was not my cup of tea, but as part of the 1001 books before you die challenge it had to be read.

I have read worse and I have not been left feeling I have wasted my time reading it.

Halfway between Sherlock Holmes and James Bond. Fast-paced, entertaining, thoroughly British.

I expected more to the plot. It gets 3 stars for the Richard Hannay character and the writing.

How can a book so short be so dull.

Just finished... listening to The Thirty-Nine Steps by John Buchan and read by Robert Powell for Audible. I absolutely loved this adventure story. Totally engaging.
