Boring. Only finished because it was short. Too much faffing about in the forest.

I was bored within 9 pages. Nothing was reeling me in and nothing made me want to keep going.
An involving tale of intrigue, well written and well paced, with an engaging main character, Richard Hannay. Perhaps little dated, being set just before the outbreak of World War I. The plot is driven by just one or two too many coincidences to be completely convincing.
Still, a worthwhile read. I plan to add some of Buchan's other novels featuring Richard Hannay to my list of books to read, perhaps as a guilty pleasure.

I find it funny that even over a hundred years ago, people liked a conspiracy spy thriller. This is a good short story; action packed, wish fulfilment with a man being thrown into an international spy assassination plot. You may have read something with similar points, or watched movies that make this seem familiar but remember this was written ages ago before anything else (possibly) you have read or watched. It's fun to see what entertained people in 1915.
A quick, fast and exciting read. A bit dated as it is indicative of its time. Today would be deemed politically incorrect
