I definitely think I will grab the audiobooks for the next installments of the series, as I think well orchestrated ones would enhance the writing style that is somehow...dialogue via monologue. I did find it a bit harder to follow than the way Themis Files was set up.
As a linguist myself, it's always a pleasure to read someone who also secretly considers themselves to be Daniel Jackson.
I think that if you like Samantha Shannon, you might enjoy this trilogy? It's a historical sci fi novel and rather dense, despite its seeming airiness. I love the idea that the space race was literally just an alien manipulating humans to try to get a rocket.
