Ok, like... Look past the title of this book... Stay with me here.
I totally wanted to step into the world of Bizarro Horror, and this one was one of the first that popped up, and let's be honest, I totally picked it because of the name. But, look past the name...
Was this the best book I've ever read? Haha, no.
But was it the worst? Another no.
This book actually had a decent plot, some of the writing was absurd and hilarious, but it worked. This book deserves the 4 stars that I gave it, and I look forward to continuing reading in the bizarro horror field.

FYI, this book is NOT going to be for everyone. If you don't like horror, humor, and a little bit of 'WTF' then stay away.

I don’t have words really for what I read. But I’ll try.. the story wasn’t the best it’s a short story 90 pages... I was hoping for funny it wasn’t funny, it has shock factors that’s why it got two stars. But really it’s going in the trash bin.

Seems like what bizarro fiction needs is some women authors. (Please excuse the gender binary)

Honestly, I didn't know what to expect going into this, but this shit is funny and gross as hell too at times.. So yeah. 4 stars is pretty fair, in my opinion, for this hilarious/disgusting flick.

But, I don't think everyone would agree with me, after checking out the reviews for this title. Which is obviously fine and only natural. Though the only thing that bothered me a little is that people are reading too much into this when there's nothing to read into. Just check it out, have a laugh (maybe a gag or two) and move on. It's not that deep.

THE HAUNTED VAGINA is top notch Carlton Mellick III. Of the CM3 books I've read, this is my second favorite right behind ZOMBIES AND SHIT. This story subtly shifts gears a few times but remains engaging throughout. The imagery described is vivid. This is the type of story you can see as you read.

The characters are interesting. I really cared about the narrator and his relationship to the women in the story. There is a creepy haunting aspect to the story but its balanced out with a fun, adorable playfulness as well. It's the type of storytelling I've seen fall flat on it's feet before but Mellick III melds the different feels together perfectly.

If I had to find something to be critical about, it would be the quickened pace at the end. A steadily paced story suddenly goes into to hyper speed in the last few chapters. The book could have been stretched a few chapters longer to expand upon the rapid fire explanations to get to the final scene. The last scene however drops back into the overall pace of the story and ends perfectly.

This is an excellent example of Carlton Mellick's writing prowess. He gets a lot of mileage describing not only sights but sounds, tastes and touches. He uses words economically and keeps the reader entrenched in the story as a result. THE HAUNTED VAGINA is one of the reasons he is the face of the genre.

What did you do today? I read a book about a secret world nestled betwixt a woman's thighs...and I loved it.

Stacy and Steve have a happy relationship until Steve discovers that Stacy's vagina is haunted. Steve is, of course, freaked out so he tries to just stay away from Stacy's nethers making for an unhappy Stacy. One day she's had enough of not "getting any" and persuades him to 69 with her by promising to keep her legs closed. Then something inside Stacy tries to escape...
