How on Earth am I going to rate this book ?... I know : UFO ! (Unfortunately, this rating doesn't exist on GR ;)

One of my co-workers, who likes weird/funny/trashy stuff, made me buy this book for my library. We've got trashier books on the shelves, hidden behind the respectability of the words "classic literature", we've got books on the history of excrements and various body parts, so I thought, why not ? But when I received it, I wanted to read it before I decided if it would really deliver it to my beloved fragile readers.

Well, it's moderately funny, completely creepy, absolutely improbable and I really wondered what had the author been smoking before he wrote that ! It's not an erotica, it's paranormal because come on, a world inside somebody's vagina ? This story is simply weird. Bizarro, to be exact !

I did not love it, I did not hate it, some passages made me cringe but I've read worse, I think I read it with my eyebrows raised all the time, wondering where this was leading to ! You'll believe me or not, there's a happy ending :)

This is one of the oddest books I've ever read. That being said, I enjoyed it. It was hilarious and extremely imaginative. It reads like it was written by a twelve-year old, which is countered by the maturity level of the content (if this was a movie, it would fall somewhere between an R and X rating). Overall, it was a nice balance.

You will either love or hate Mellick's writing - he has a very simplistic, avant-garde style that's not seen too often and is, IMHO, under-appreciated.

Weird and funny, Mellick always provides a good escape for me.

It's like a Tim Burton movie but a 1000 times weirder.

This book is fantastic. It is straightforward what it sounds like and that is amazing. It also has tall girl-short boy relationships, which I love.

By far the wierdest book I've ever read. Soooooo the MC's girlfriend has a vagina that is a portal to another world. She has her boyfriend climb into her va-j-j and literally goes exploring inside there. I'm NOT going to tell you more than that, but I WILL say that this has got to be by far the wildest but yet most coherent thing I've ever read. This is an interesting story about being transported to another world.

I feel like I should warn everyone that this falls into the genre "bizarro fiction." This is where some pissed off fan is going yell at me for not knowing this. Look: While I certainly guessed from the title that it was going to be bizarre, I did not realize that "bizarro fiction" was its own, strange little genre.

And yeah....the book was bizarre. Stacy has a haunted vagina. She has always wondered about the world inside of her and she has at last managed to convince her fiance, Steve, to explore the world inside of her. Lots of Vaseline later (no, I'm not even kidding), Steve makes his way in and begins to investigate this strange new world. Unfortunately for Steve, getting out is not as easy as getting in.

The most positive thing I can say about this book is that there is a bit of a plot twist; it did not end the way I expected. So there's that. Over all, though, I'm just not a fan. It wasn't the bizarro plot-line that ruined it for me, but the writing. I wasn't expecting, like, Shakespeare or something, but I'd hoped for better. The quality just is not there.

On the up side, the book was only 100 pages, so it's not like it took me long to read. And it's novel to tell people that I've read this book. But I won't be seeking out any more of Carlton Millick III's many books.

There’s something weird about Steve’s girlfriend Stacy. Her vagina makes noises. Noises that go way beyond the normal bodily kinds of noises you might expect. Stacy claims her vagina is haunted. Steve is beginning to believe her. It’s when a skeleton climbs out between her legs one night and she persuades Steve to crawl in, that he’s starting to think her vagina is a gateway to another world. And that’s when things get really weird.

Ok, wtf did I just read? I’ve not read much bizarro fiction, but holy shit, this has got to be one of the trippiest stories I’ve ever come across. Not only has Stacy had to put up with bizarre noises coming from her nether regions, but how high do you have to be to ask your fully grown boyfriend to climb in where a skeleton thing has just come out? Seriously! And he does it! Not only does he squeeze all of himself inside her, but he ends up in some weird world. He gets back out again, but Stacy wants him to try again. Wrong thing to do because…well, because reasons I won’t reveal. Anyway, wtf. I was hoping this would be a monster porn-type story but it’s just bizarro fiction, so give it a whirl if you like that kind of thing. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

This is the weirdest, funniest, most bizarre book I've ever read.

The Haunted Vagina by Carlton Mellick III

What would you do if after hearing noises from your girlfriend’s vagina, she told you it was haunted?  Dive right in and get to the bottom of it😏

If you think that was an inappropriate play on words, you might wanna just stop right now because this probably isn’t the book for you❌

Bizarro fiction is a very appropriate classification for this book. It had funny parts, sweet parts, horror parts, sexual parts (I mean the title warns you pretty well). Inappropriate, vulgar, and miles away from politically correct, this little novella (under 100 pages) was a perfect break for me between a couple of more serious 500+ page beasts🤪

I’m not gonna spout this as great literature or find some deep meaning in the plot. For me, it was just a fun little dive into the bizarre, and just seeing the title and cover make me smile😁
