Just felt like it was missing something… I know it was a novella but the first 30% felt a bit irrelevant

I love a good wolven form (not shifter) novella. But this book was a bit all over the place with the writing. The wording was 'oldie worldie' but with modern words and terms thrown in. There were too many different bits of story that had been added. It's like the author had 10 different ideas for a story and tried to cram them into 1 novella.
I would have been happy if the different ideas had been split into different books.
For example in this very short story we could have just had the MMC watching her grow up and then take her and mating her. Then we could have had a different short story with (maybe) a different pack member for the war, and different short story with the found family etc. It didn't all need to be in the one book which made the story feel rushed, disjointed and incomplete. I would have happily read each story but cramming too much into a smut novella isn't what a smut novella is for. Its supposed to be a quick, easy, hot read where we don't have to think too much.
