What a delightful read. Clever setting, thoughtful characters, and just a whole lot of fun. I'm here for more mysteries in space with a splash of noir.

No one does aesthetics like Mary Robinette Kowal. I love the little details that tell you a ton about the future (everyone using “spouse” for the person they’re married to, pronouns at the end of every name, masks). MRK definitely has a type of protagonist (extremely talented woman of privilege with a mental health condition), but that makes her stories more about seeing this character struggle and inevitably succeed in different setting. Murder mysteries aren’t my thing, but i love spending time with these characters in this space.
