Very informative but also interesting to the lay person. I found he was very reflective and enjoyed reading how he'd maybe change things in his past. The cases were interesting and I loved that it followed cases with people of all different ages.

Nothing wrong with this book, I just didn’t enjoy it as much as “Unnatural Causes”. Partly my fault as I took a while to read this and get into it as I listened to the audiobook.

The concept of looking at cases throughout the stages of life is brilliant. There's a lot of background detail into the biology/medicine of the causes of death rather than providing mainly post mortem information. Not as good as Unatural Causes, but still very interesting.

Incredibly fascinating read about the different stages of life, told through the lens of death. Dr Shepherd wonderfully balanced the medical facts with a sense of compassion, and kept me intrigued and educated through-out.
