I put this book into my 'lost interest' category but then I realised I only had twelve pages left and I might as well persevere. I'm not going to spend too long writing a review because it's late and frankly this story isn't worth it. Spark's innocence and naivete would have been refreshing but I feel like it was taken too far. Caria (I think that was her name) was an ok character but I didn't get a chance to really emphasise with her. Or anyone else for that matter. Furthermore, the narrative was too rushed for a real relationship between reader and story to develop. Overall...not an impressive read. You'd think one hundred and seventy something pages would guarantee a measure of quality but obviously not.
I was thoroughly entertained by Spark.
I was laughing and cringing and got the HEA I was looking for.
The experiences the aliens go through are hilarious.
Parts of the story had me guessing what was going to happen next and on the whole, I loved it.

Very quick read so great if you don't have a lot of time. These aliens want a free vacation to Las Vegas.. so pretend to be looking for a wife. Kal, taking the pseudonym Spark, is looking for fun. Carrie is at there for her cousins wedding. Sees his bumbling attempts but instead of helping him, he finds her to be the one he wants. Cute and fun short story. Will be interesting to read the other two aliens and their adventures.
Kal (Spark) and his brothers have come to Las Vegas for a vacation courtesy of Galaxy Brides - they're supposed to be looking for mates and giving the company promotional reviews. Carrie is in Las Vegas to be a bridesmaid in her cousin's wedding party. Kal has been trying to convince women to sample his wares, but he's really misinformed about human dating – much of his research seems to have come from porn videos. Needless to say, there’s a bit of humorous miscommunications. Kal and Carrie meet and start exploring their feelings and relationship with one another, but they’ll have to deal with kidnappings, other aliens, and more before they reach their HEA. The story has some funny moments and is a light read. Having read some of the author's later works, I think she's definitely become a much stronger writer since this one was written.
The first in a new series - alien cousins come to Earth on vacation for fun and to find some female companionship. Kal aka Spark coordinated the trip for himself and his cousins Vin/Flame and Sev/Blaze, but he is secretly hoping to find a special woman, someday.
Carrie is in Vegas to be the 7th bridesmaid in her cousin’s wedding. She is a total misfit with the wedding party who have a week of planned activities scheduled. Carrie runs into Kal/Spark and finds him incredibly attractive yet childlike in his apparent innocence about the world around him.
I think the storyline/premise had a lot of promise; however the author took a silly almost slapstick comedy approach which just didn’t ‘do it’ for me. It’s an alien romance so I obviously wasn’t expecting super serious, but I was expecting more from the author based on the Var and Draig series.
I enjoy humor, but slapstick comedy isn’t my thing. My opinion doesn’t diminish the fact some readers like silly romances. This was a quick read and I finished it (skimmed the last third of the book), but this isn’t a series I will continue reading. However, I definitely will continue to check out the author’s other series in the future, especially the Space Lords series.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What happens in Vegas...
You've got to love this fish out of water story. Kal is so adorable and Carrie is clueless but also smart. Looks like the overall arch will play through the three books, but this story is worth it.

Wow that was a hoot! At first it was a little weird since I'm used to the point of views changing by person like in most sci-fi romance books, but I got used to it. I was sure cracking up throughout this whole book with the mistranslations. Really appreciated the humor. Wish there was more to the story though, kinda felt like it ended fast in the last chapter. I will definitely have to read the other books in this series!.

i feel like it was over too soon. i loved how kal was so naive about things but she had sex with him too soon for me. then she found out the truth, gets kidnapped and no one notices in a day and after rescuing her they're suddenly married. i also think she should've gone to his planet.
