I freaking adored this read! I laughed, I clinched my fists, I sobbed, I smiled and I swooned. Everything you expect from an emotional love story by Kandi was laid out perfectly in this book. Mikey was young and idiotic. Kylie was naive and empathetic. Best friends who shared their deepest, most private thoughts and experiences since the tender age of 8. But one side of the friendship wanted more and the other was absolutely clueless.
This friends to lovers story was so darn sweet and had the most amazing slow burn and build up. I loved that the author took the time to hash out the characters’ experiences and feelings. Nothing was surface level. You felt the emotion and pain/love deep within your core. The pace was perfect for this type of read!
The connection that Mikey and Kylie shared was so incredible. Love is friendship set on fire and that was absolutely true for this couple. They had built the foundation necessary to make it last, through all that could possibly be thrown their way. Unbreakable these two were. It’s hard to believe that this story was about two 18 yr olds who’d just graduated high school.
This was my favorite Becker brothers book to date!

Michael and Kylie - best friends to lovers, small town
Michael and Kyle bonded over heart break of their parents when they were 8. They had been inseparable up until Michael starts dating Bailey. They went their own ways after that because Bailey didn’t want them friends, except she broke up with him and left after 2 years to go to Nashville. Kylie came right back to him trying to cheer him up throughout summer, only her crush grew exponentially.

I can’t get over the Becker Brother’s but there is just something about Michael Becker that completely stole my heart. This is hands down my favorite book of the series.
Mikey and Kylie are best friends, they have been since they were eight years old. Michael announces he is moving to New York and Kylie makes it her mission to show him everything he loves about their small town and maybe convince the boy she has loved her entire life that maybe they could be something more.
I LOVED Michael and Kylie’s friendship so much. There is such a deep bond and connection between these two. They know everything about each other, they don’t hide anything from each other. They share a bond that many others don’t. There is so much chemistry between them. When things shift and their relationship starts you can’t help but just fall in love with them even more.
Kandi wrote an amazing slow burn, angst filled, friends to lovers romance that I never wanted to end. This story was making me swoon left and right, slightly broke my heart, but quickly mended those broken pieces. This book is a MUST READ and easily one of my TOP BOOKS of 2019.

This book is so good. This series drew me in from the very beginning and definitely didn't let go. Kandi Steiner has created such an amazing small town atmosphere in these books and the characters are every bit as amazing as the settings are. Kylie's honesty and openness in this book tugged at my heartstrings and legit had me crying a couple of times. Such a beautiful story.
4.5 Stars!
I really did enjoy this book! Kylie and Mikey have been best friend's since they were 8 years old, bonding over both losing a parent when they were a young age. They were inseparable, but remained firmly in the friend zone, even though Kylie has loved Mikey since they first met. She watched as Mikey fell in love with Bailey, his high school sweetheart, and went through heartbreak, helping to pull him out of the black hole he fell into after Bailey left.
Mikey has always had Kylie and taken her for granted, and has never really seen her as anything other than his best friend. For the two years he was with Bailey, their friendship suffered and held Kylie at arm's length, and only when Bailey ended it to pursue her music career in Nashville in the autumn of their senior year, Kylie comes back properly into his life to help him recover from his heartbreak.
The night of their high school graduation, Mike announces he's moving to New York City at the end of the summer. Distraught, Kylie decides shes's going to convince him he still loves their home town of Stratford, Tennessee, and tell him how she really feels. She creates a list of all their favourite places around town and takes him back to each one, trying to prove that his memories of the town don't all contain Bailey and he doesn't have to run to New York to escape her.
During the adventures, Mikey's eyes are opened to the fact that Kylie is, in fact, a girl (haha) and while he's had blinkers on with Bailey, Kylie has grown into a beautiful young woman. He begins to see her as more than a friend and their relationship begins to blossom. Of course, there is drama and heartbreak a long the way when various parts of their pasts are thrown back into the mix, but Kylie and Mikey have such a strong foundation, in the end nothing can shake it.
I enjoyed Kylie and Mikey's story but the one thing that made me knock half a star off was that I got so fed up with Mikey in some parts, I just wanted to throw my Kindle across the room. I think my heart broke more for Kylie and the way Mikey treated her, especially during the time he was with Bailey, than it did for him and his heartbreak. I know your first love is the hardest to recover from, but he really did milk it for all he could and treated Kylie horribly, especially when he would be reminded of Bailey. I was so angry with him for half the book, he really needed to grow up. But having said that, when he was with Kylie, he was all in and he treated her like a princess which I loved. He did make some questionable decisions at the end, but ultimately he knew who he really loved and did what he could to win her back! I adored him by the end.
Kylie really did love Mikey and she was definitely my favourite character, she knew what she was worth and stood up for herself when she was let down. I think that she was so strong, and made me cry in a number of places with her feelings because I related to her in certain parts of the book hard. I love a good friends to more romance and Manhattan is one of the best I've read this year!
I haven't read any of the other Becker Brothers books and I didn't feel like I missed anything, but I will be going back and reading the older brother's stories now! There were clearly storylines which carried on between all three books but there's enough explanation to get you up to speed pretty quickly. I can't wait for book 4!
Thank you Kandi Steiner and Social Butterfly PR for an advanced reader copy of Manhattan in exchange for an honest review.

This is an author ARC review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
I was unaware that this was part of a series when I decided to read it. It did not cause any issues as all backstory is adequately relayed.
Kandi Steiner continues her Becker Brothers series with book 3. This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions. Kylie and Michael are the best buds who take a chance on love. This book covers so many emotional topics that the reader will need a seatbelt.
I wish I had a Betty in my life. She's some good comic relief as well as the grandmotherly wisdom.
The portrayal of childhood/teenage grief is so accurate.
My complaint, and the reason that I only gave it 3 stars, is that the cover is misleading. Kylie and Michael are freshly graduated from high school. These beautiful people on the cover are definitely not close to high school. Also, after re-reading the description of the book it doesn't indicate that the main characters are young.
I did not notice any formatting or typographical errors.

Manhattan, Mikey’s story and the youngest Becker brother, is the third book in the Becker Brothers series. To say that this book was one of my most anticipated reads would be an understatement. I’ve desperately wanted Mikey’s book even before I was finished reading the first book in the series, On the Rocks. And it was well worth the wait, so much more than I could’ve thought possible, and everything I didn’t know I needed.
Mikey Becker stole my heart and I don’t want it back. If there’s one thing that I can appreciate is for a man to show emotion and be vulnerable—and Mikey has no problem showing his feelings. He’s going through heartache and because of that his emotions are raw and are felt deeply. He wasn’t afraid to open up, especially to his best friend Kylie. I loved his character so much. I loved his sensitive side and the love he had for his mom. I loved his relationship with his brothers and how tight-knit they are. And I especially loved the irreplaceable friendship he had with Kylie. All those things shaped Mikey into the incredible man he is.
Kylie was a character with a heart of gold. She’s loving, selfless and would go out of her way to help any person. She put everyone and everything above herself without batting an eye. She’s made up of smiles, sunshine, and love that’s wrapped in a beautiful soul. It isn’t hard to be swept up in Kylie’s orbit, it’s done so effortlessly. She was such a beautiful and amazingly written character.
Kylie and Mikey share a very special connection. Since that very first day on the playground when they first met—their friendship began and have been inseparable. But along the way they started drifting apart (Mikey’s doing) and spent less time together. They used to be thick as thieves and now they barely see each other. Kylie’s had enough though and she’ll do anything to help her best friend heal from his broken heart and make him smile again. She’s there to help him and be the friend she’s always been to him. I can’t say enough how much I loved Kylie and Mikey’s friendship. It was so pure, real and just everything. And when Mikey finally opened his eyes to see Kylie more than just as a friend was just the icing on the cake. I loved these two so so much just as much as I loved their friendship and their romance.
Manhattan was filled with sweet and touching moments. It brought all the feels and the emotional aspect. This story was more than two friends falling in love. It was about two young people trying to figure out what’s next in this journey that’s called life. It’s about learning who they are and living in the moment. It’s about taking chances even though you might be scared and knowing that in the end it’ll all be ok and so worth taking the risks.
I. Loved. This. Book. Hands down my favorite in this series. I loved and lived for Mikey and Kylie’s story. I also loved catching up with the Becker family and all the Becker brothers. This series is definitely becoming a favorite of mine. Manhattan was another incredible addition to an already addicting series. I can’t wait for Jordan’s story. Until then I’ll be waiting on pins and needles. I neeeeeeed!

In the form of Manhattan by Kandi Steiner, my 2019 reading ended with a BOOM. POP. FIZZ. I have serious love for these Becker Brothers, so I made it a priority book-wise to have it read by the end of the year. I can honestly say, it DID NOT disappoint!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At times, and in true “boy” fashion, Mikey drove me mad — but he also stole my heart with his endless charm. Especially during the eye-opening, heart-stopping moments he shared with his best friend. Kylie was such a truly lovable heroine, and her feelings were portrayed so realistically. Vividly. I think everyone, at one time in their life, felt exactly like she did. And in her, I think that’s where the beauty of this story stemmed from.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This entire book gave me LIFE, and I couldn’t get enough of the slow burn feels. Manhattan was a maddening, exhilarating, heartbreakingly relatable story of taking chances, and crossing that line between friendship and more. Mikey and Kylie are friends-to-lovers at it’s BEST, and everything I’d hoped to get from the youngest Becker Brother.
