It was ok. I rolled my eyes a lot but she’s fun to listen to. Motivated me to become a UJAM instructor but there was a LOT of repeat advice.

I wanted to read this book again as I was reading it. It got to me. It’s not what I imagined it to be. It’s not just a conversation for feminists, it’s actually a plan for women to become business owners! Great! Great!

Reading this book is like talking to Rachel, self educated very smart and knowledgeable woman, who speaks your language and knows your exact fears. And it feels like she’s a trained therapist too, but she tells you exactly what will help you move forward.

This book has some wonderful tips on setting and achieving goals! I want to listen to it again so I can take notes!

I absolutely hated the tone in this book. Arrogant, narcissistic, self important, self-indulgent. The lack of depth and compassion made it highly unpalatable. It is sprinkled with fat phobic comments and body-shaming blabber. I highly recommend not reading this book.

Shame and guilt are not from God- understand that concept. You will fail even when you’re trying your best- deal with it. Give from a place of abundance. When you’re your best self your gifts will spill out to others. For years I have told my 7 year old for years “hang out with people that are smarter than you and kinder than you.” Rachel said it perfectly “if you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.”

A good book to help you get out of your own way. The words were positive and impactful.

Aside from all of the Rachel Hollis drama, there is some good nuggets in this book. I took them! But, a lot of what she says in her books is hard to take seriously and genuinely when her actions outside of the book don’t match up. So, this book was book in its golden nuggets however, I wouldn’t buy it again if I had the chance because I believe in supporting people who are truly kind, humble, and don’t flaunt their privilege.
