‘On Palestine’ is a conversation between Ilan Pappé and Noam Chomsky, led and edited by Frank Barat. You’ll also find articles written by Pappé and Chomsky in this book.

Going into this book without some foundational knowledge about Palestine might not have been the best idea. I had to look up a bunch of terms, ideas and history about Palestine and Israel. Nevertheless this book was an educational and enriching read and I’d still recommend it to anyone that wants to learn about current and past events pertaining this conflict/war.

If you’re looking for constructive and helpful ways to aid the Palestinians, the authors of this book give you sound advice on how to go about it. It’s very complex to support a group of people who live in different areas and face different policies + every action you take has consequences so it’s crucial to think those through before doing anything that possibly affects Palestinians negatively.
In case you needed any guidance in your activism I think this book might give you some ideas and information you might not have thought about before.

The authors compare the apartheid regime in Palestine to the one in South Africa quite often. Not only to explain it but also to find solutions.
Towards the end of the book it sadly got unnecessarily repetitive. They added articles the authors wrote about ceasefires but the content was the same. Chapters 11 and 12 basically say the same thing.

It’s probably wise to learn and read about the Palestinian-Israeli war before picking up this book. This is a good addition in your learning but is probably not the best starting point.

Everyone in the US should read this book. It does get repetitive as you get in to the essays and speeches, but still well worth the read.

Pretty repetitive, but otherwise solid & would recommend
