A quick and easy review of this book in two points;
1. Israel will never allow for a 2-state solution for the same reason they will not allow for the 1-state solution. The reason is their quest for Jewish majority in the region [this would not necessarily be a problem, I mean there are countries that we would say are Muslim majority for example, the problem lies in the way they want to achieve this, which involve forced displacement of people, dehumanisation, silencing anyone that disagreed with them, killing, bombing people, etc], a Zionist political strangle hold on the resources of the middle east and an hatred for any reminders of the fact that they continue to justify enacting horrors upon the Palestinian people under their memory of the holocaust. They cannot use one horror to justify another. They know that under a 1-state solution, they would have to afford the same rights to Palestinians as they do for the Jewish settlers and Israelis; which is something they desperately do not want.
2. So they do everything within their power to quell any progress or collaboration between Hamas and the PA (did you know that back in 2014, Hamas handed over governance and security oversight of the Gaza crossings to the Palestinian Authority after negotiations: most people thought it was a good first step to unifying the Palestinians and creating a state - but do you know what then happened? Israel launched Operation Protective Edge, claiming without evidence that Hamas was tied to the murder three Israeli boys- they still don’t have any evidence to support this); they break ceasefires, they capture children and put them in prison for throwing stones [that 6 year old child is not throwing boulders - they need to stop with the lies]; they escalate aggressions, their tactic of intimidation is legendary. Every time progress is achieved in unifying Hamas and the Palestinian authority in the west bank, Israel interferes.
So, it begs the questions, why are we all pretending not to know what is going on here? The only democracy in the middle east puts children in military prisons for throwing stones. That is the democracy they sell; the one where military shoots and kills children for throwing stones. THE ONLY DEMOCRACY IN THE MIDDLE EAST!

I found this book overall to be highly informative—especially in terms of the legislation in Western countries that have wholly influenced and affected the Palestinians.
The chapters of dialogues slightly lost me. I probably should have listened to the actual conversation(s), as I feel that the tone in quite a few instances was completely lost to the transcript.
I do feel that some of these arguments are a bit too moderate now, at least in the face of one of the largest modern day genocides to date. Some of the arguments were a bit toothless and/or middle ground, though perhaps they were valid enough at the time of publication.

This was a great companion read after reading 100 years War on Palestine. Covered a brief general history of the settlent of the land since WW1, and put a focus in particular on the modern era, post the two intifadas.
Essential reading once you've finished 100 years War on Palestine and want to lock all that info into place.
I will say though , the second chapter being 40 pages and being a very break-neck pace of the history of Palestine was a lot.
