BOOK NOT INTENDED AS AN INTRO
You’ll need, at least, a basic familiarity with the history of the situation to understand what is discussed.

The book is a conversation between Noam Chomsky & Ilan Pappé as they discuss various issues related to the systematic (gradual but periodically escalated) genocide of the Palestinians by Israel.
Some topics discussed are: The infeasibility of a “two state solution”, and what would a one state solution actually look like?; Effective and ineffective methods of activism; Why comparing Israel with South Africa can be problematic; the influence of American support for the occupying regime; etc…

This was really interesting, tho largely theoretical and detached. If you’ve ever wanted to listen in on a chat between these two brilliant men, this is your chance

Incredibly informative, does not shy away from difficult truths. If you are somewhat familiar with the history of Palestine and are looking for something that focuses more on leftist thoughts about what has happened/should be done, this is a great resource. However, I was coming at this from the opposite angle - as someone who has a decent understanding of the theory, but knows less about the history, this probably wasn't the greatest choice for me. Regardless, I still got a lot out of reading this, and feel better educated about the situation.

I will say, I feel like the book was organized in a strange way? I think it would've made more sense to start off with the later chapters of the book, which give a brief history of the situation, and then get into the conversations about the reasonings behind everything and the future.

This should be taught in school. End of discussion. Also fuck the United States
