Very slow beginning and the beloved Miss Marple does not even enter the book until later and even then, the focus seems to be on Craddock.
The ending was good and sped up so that was redeeming. Otherwise, I enjoyed the characters though some really did nothing for the story or plot, I assume they were to be bodies of suspicion.
Did not guess the Killer but enjoyed the little hints and the explanation at the end. A little bit far fetched perhaps, but it was still overall good.

Again, I read this after seeing a TV adaption of this book. I think this is one of Christie's best. The TV producers appear to agree as the plot was essentially the same, just a smaller cast list, but so was much of the dialogue.
I really enjoyed seeing how she put this one together. All the necessary clues were there if you just knew where to look, and all the red herrings were plausible events, if horribly misleading.

Really good - really enjoyable set of characters, Miss Marple is, of course, a delight, some definite not-subtle middle-aged lesbians, a delightful, convoluted mystery. My god, I love Agatha Christie. I can't believe it took me until I was in my 40s to discover that.
