I love reading Anne Lamott. Her books always speak to my heart and my soul while making me smile and laugh out loud. For me, reading anything by Lamott is thought-provoking, faith-building delight.

Honest talk about love and faith and hope and grace. It felt like a perfect support.

Her life, like her words, is chaotically scarred and beautiful.

This includes pieces from earlier books, but the new stuff is worth picking this one up.

The writings are grouped by "companions", "families", "airborne" and "ground", though I didn't always understand the reasoning behind the arrangement of the last two categories. Lamott's writing is honest and beautiful; her subject matter clarifying and mundane in many cases. I could've done without the political commentary.

To be honest I think this book was fine just not for me. I didn’t connect with the author as I previously have and it was read by the author which I didn’t enjoy. It just wasn’t for me.
