The essays were interesting, but the audio book was a bit disappointing. Anne Lamott read it, but it was very monotone and hard to listen to.

Enjoyed some essays better than others, but overall, really enjoyed this book. I'm a fan of Anne Lamott's writing and humor.

Anne Lamott has done it again. This book is so beautiful and raw. I almost lost it in the chapter about the dog. I love that Lamott continues to write and this book is no exception. Each essay reminded me of the many reasons I love her.

This was the first book I read from Anne. I liked her writing style and unique perspective. She’s vulnerable and honest— saying this that describe feelings you didn’t even know you had. In this book, her voice is valuable because she positions herself in a humble place and shares her discoveries of joy along the way.

I'm a fan of Lamott's writing, but this book wasn't my favorite. I really liked some of these essays, the lessons that they teach, and the beautiful moments that come with them, but there were also some that didn't keep my attention. Not sure if listening to this on audio had anything to do with that, but overall, this was just okay.

As per usual found myself binge-reading my way through this book of essays. Anne Lamott is one of my very favorite writers. She makes me laugh, think, and love the English language even more. This newest book (published last year) contains some previously published essays but the majority of the book was new (for me at least-- and I've read 4 of her other books). Good stuff as always.

Anne Lamott's stuff is always good, but be forewarned that much of this material is recycled. If you have read her other work, this may be the one to skip. But her essay on her dog Sadie gets me every time. Her writing, as usual, is irreverent and poetic, profound and sweet and true.

Attempted to listen to the audio book and the narration was flat. The few stories just never went anywhere and I found myself not listening due to being bored. I never did get any "Aha" moment that so many people do get from her books. Disappointing.
