This charming middle-grade graphic novel has been recommended to me by several friends. Its autumn palette illustrations were calling to me so I checked it out from the library for a quick read. It is a cute story about veggie and fruit folk from the village of vegetable people. When a vampire moves into the neighborhood, Garlic gets volun-told to go see if he is a threat or not. She is terrified but finds the courage to set out on her adventure.
It has basic themes around kindness and not assuming the worst of people that are different. My favorite part was watching Celery get his face eaten by the leopards eating faces party.

The storyline was 4 stars, but the artwork is amazing. This was an adorable, quick read.
