This is a sequel and so I felt most of the character development happened in the first book; but there is growth for the characters as they become fuller versions of themselves. This book heavily focused on resolution and tying up loose ends. This isn't a book full of surprises; you know what's coming, but that didn't make it any less engaging; I wanted to know How it would happen for the characters. The last third felt rushed to get to the conclusion and a bit forced. Torin and Sidra have history that makes their arc believable and brings a sense of depth to their relationship. We're meant to believe in Adaira and Jack's love story but there's not much to build on except maybe shared trauma.

Review: Book two in the "Elements of Cadence" Duology. This flowed right along with the first book. I still loved the characters just as much as the first. So much intrigue that keeps you turning the page. This will be a Duology I would reread.

The men in this book have my heart. I love how much each character changes and grows and how open they are with one another for the most part. I loved the plot and everything about this book
