The Ghost of Fossil Glen is very much a 90s book. It was written in 1998- 20 years ago - so somethings don't translate real well like having to place collect calls and having a new fangled thing called the internet! Other than that, it's not a bad book. The characters are a little cheesy but the plot is interesting and kept me reading. If you like Joan Lowry Nixon or Mary Downing Hahn's earlier books, you'll like this one. I don't know if kids would enjoy it since they are into more scary things like American Horror Story and The Walking Dead.

I read this book way back in middle school & it’s stuck with me ever since, though I could never remember the name of it. I was so excited to accidentally stumble across it on Amazon. I loved it as much now as I did way back then. Pretty spooky stuff to be geared towards such a young audience. I never knew it was part of a series, I’m really tempted to read some more!

I probably read this book like in 5th grade (I'm currently in college) and I loved it! It's one of the many books I've read who's title has always been stuck in my head.

This book was basically everything I want to see in a ghost/murder mystery. It was fast paced, mysterious, and you couldn't just solve the mystery in the first chapter. If you like this kind of book, it is definitely worth your time, and I can't wait to read the sequel.

It was one of the first books that got me very interested to read and made me feel like I knew the character. It was one of my favorite books in 5th grade. Very intriguing and I loved the mystery.

This is one of my childhood favorites. I have read this book MANY times. And this most recent reread was just as delightful of an experience as every other time. Allie is saved from falling to her death by a ghost and then the ghost keeps showing up in weird ways in her life until she helps the ghost resolve what is making it haunt her! I think one reason I have always enjoyed this book is how quickly the plot moves. No dilly dallying, you just get pure story.
