Heel spannend verhaal.

A investment baker searching for that first job, lands one with a prestigious New York firm. What could go wrong? Working closely with a team of 5, Sally soon learns just exactly how wrong things can go! But, nothing’s sweeter than revenge - for herself, for Lucy, and for Lucy’s mom. Watch how the other members of the team try to figure out the Elevator escape room.

A group of investment bankers are called to a mandatory meeting on Friday evening in an out of the way office building. They are told that there is a team building activity on the seventieth floor. Once inside the elevator, it heads to the top where the lights go off and the team is given clues to get out of the elevator. Needless to say, the team starts to disintegrate and fights ensue. We learn more about the background of each character, and a girl that used to be on the team, but is now dead. I thought this was a fun, fast-paced thriller that kept me reading to find out what happened to the girl and how the team would ever escape the elevator.

An interesting concept and it did keep me guessing.

This book was so goofy! It also has a structure I've never seen in a thriller before. It somehow reminded me of literary fiction novels like [b:Commonwealth|28214365|Commonwealth|Ann Patchett|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1483278132l/28214365._SY75_.jpg|48242398] or [b:The Vanishing Half|51791252|The Vanishing Half|Brit Bennett|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1577090827l/51791252._SX50_SY75_.jpg|73423787] of all things, mostly in terms of how we would get sudden info dumps about characters. It would also jump back and forth through time ... I don't mean in terms of how some chapters follow the career of one person employed by the firm, and the other chapters are in the present moment on the elevator. I mean how the Sarah Hall chapters would veer back and forth in time. Entire years go by in the blink of an eye, and then Sarah goes "woops, better fill you in on my friendship with Lucy actually." (Not literally, although that would have been funny.) It's not bad, but it's not good either. It's just there and kind of unusual for the genre.
