An intensely atmospheric book with complicated characters trying to navigate life in modern-day Edinburgh. I can’t honestly say I loved the characters as people, but I found them intriguing and wanted to know what next move they were going to make. I usually don’t read contemporary novels but this book had such vibrant prose that you felt as if you were sitting next to the characters as everything transpired. I felt like it had a happy ending, but not the type you would expect. I was lucky enough to get this from the Dundee Book Festival this past weekend, so I was able to read it a wee bit before it came out, and I think that for those who want a contemporary and atmospheric sapphic novel, this is one to check out.
