A satisfying end to the trilogy. The world and characters continued to be compelling right until the very end.

A very good end to a very enjoyable series. I think it says a lot that this book doesn't come to a grand, satisfying ending - that would make it clear it's a story. Rather, you're left with a somewhat unsatisfying realism, a sense that the saga continues to play out long after we've stopped peering into their universe; after all, nothing really ends. It's hard to build a universe that does that, so my hat's off to Ann Leckie.

sigh. loved the ending, i vibe w ann leckie's vision and politics and interests unfortunately i found the entire trilogy so badly written/constructed that it's hard to truly appreciate it. happy i read all of it, but probs wouldn't rec them!

Really good, but the ending just didn't satisfy the way I was hoping after reading the first two books. But I'm still intrigued by this setting and definitely going to read the two spin offs.

If thinking about the mars rover makes you cry, this series is for you.

“… And maybe it isn’t that ships don’t love other ships. Maybe it’s that ships love people who could be captains. It’s just, no ships have ever been able to be captains before.”
