Over here side eyeing myself. Witch's behaving badly. More vampire vibes. Thankful for the audio book. I don't know if I would have made it through just reading with my eyeballs. Wasn't a fan of the ending but curious as to what comes next.

Maaaaan, I don’t know about this book. I really liked the middle, the portion on the history of the Mayfair witches was fascinating, and the Talamasca was very cool. Beyond that this book was just okay. Lots of fucked up people doing fucked up things, but written is such a way that I never formed a real attachment to any of the characters. And then that ending which after like 900 pages was such garbage that I just couldn’t take it anymore. I dig the concept of rowan and even lasher, but this book feels poorly executed and needed a solid editor. There is absolutely no reason for this book to be as long as it was.

I’m done with Ann’s witches. I think I need to reread Queen of the Damned to remind myself that I used to love Ann Rice. I pushed through this book hoping that it would get better, but really is just got progressively worse.

the epic proportions of this book ment that whilst it was amazingly detailed for a history of one family it won't be for the faint hearted. I personally loved it because I loved the detail of each generation and what befell them.

I wish I hadn’t finished it. My fellow book club mates stopped reading it in part two.
