Rereading after many many many many yrs

Loved this book of the May witch series but only this one. The rest started to annoy me.

This is an epic. I’m excited to see where the series goes and I am FLOORED by the level of detail and intensity of the storytelling. I took off .25 because I am a little disappointed in some of the ease to which very strong characters are reduced to weakness and passivity, but I’m hoping that will be explained in the sequel.
I’m listening to the audiobook and I am enjoying it thoroughly.
Lots of trigger warnings though— this has many scenes that made me fairly uncomfortable. Most were towards the end, so I was invested in the characters and the story by then. Nothing outlandish, but definitely check content warnings.
