Chocolate. Something most women can't live without. Elodie is no exception. She actually makes it and runs her own shop. After work one night she hops over to her favorite bar for her favorite fries. Its where we meet Gage, the bar's owner. After returning Elodie's erroneously delivered online order and a somewhat busted date, they go into business together. External threats and future business plans create mayhem in our duo's lives. The spunky pair and the 2 teenage girls they're responsible for make this story a fun filled adventure to follow.

This is Book 3 in Lauren's How To Date series, so expect other characters to pop up in this standalone. We also see some characters from a few other books as well.

I truly can’t even put into words how much I loved this book. Elodie and Gage are such a great couple.

We meet Elodie as she’s ordering food at Gage’s restaurant or she discovers the hot bartender, a.k.a. owner a.k.a. Gage prompting Elodie order herself a “toy” unfortunately she has it shipped to the restaurant and Gage has to return it to her, and they’re both equally embarrassed. Gage is a single dad raising a young daughter and Elodie is her teenage sister‘s guardian after her parents were killed by a drunk driver, so they’ve both put dating on the back burner. But they decided one night to go on a date and from the very beginning, the chemistry is there and there’s an instant connection after deciding to continue their date in a hotel room. The date gets canceled mid hanky-panky because Elodie‘s sister who is a vegetarian accidentally ate a regular hamburger at her friends house and got very sick . So after messaging for days and trying to figure out a second date…..it seems futile.

However, they soon discover that they can both help each other in their business and come up with a plan for a chocolate and martinis pop-up shop. The only problem is that the owner of the space would like to rent a couple. They lie and say they’re a couple but Gage takes it one step further and say that they are engaged, which takes Elodie by surprise. They continue their fake engaged rules, though neither of them feels that it’s fake as they both have very intent and very real feelings for each other. Soon after the girls hit it off and become fast friends. Elodie’s main competition, Sebastian, who Gage CANNOT stand is constantly trying to ruin her life and her business and buy her out but chocolate business is her livelihood and she refuses to budge. Sebastian also seems very sour out of the fact that he had asked Elodie out numerous times and she never told him that she was dating someone let alone engaged, Gage feels that this is another way for Sebastian to try and sabotage Elodie so they run to Vegas and get married. The two begin their “fake” marriage with some very not fake relations and continue to sneak around for some “extra curricular activities “ without the girls knowing as to not confuse them about the fact this relationship is only temporary. The two of them continue to deal with Sebastian and his attempts to get rid of Elodie’s business but after some deep investigating by the girls they discover that Elodies rival is using store bought chocolate and passing it off as his own homemade.

After discovering this and taking him down via the work of a social media food blogger the girls confront Elodie and Gage and let them know that they know that even though the relationship is supposed to be fake, they both like each other and they should give it a try. After setting up a date for the two of them, they discover that they really do love each other and that this marriage is not only the best thing for them but for their girls too.

The chemistry is amazing and the way that they love those little girls is incredible.

Thank you, Lauren Blakley for the opportunity to arc this book!
