I had high hopes for this, since I really enjoyed the Other Boleyn Girl. I thought the Queen’s Fool was okayish, and hope this one was good due to the curse idea. Oh man, was I wrong.
There were pages that just went on and could have been cut out or made shorter. Some dates were messed up and even though I’ve read a ton of books about the Wars of the Roses and Plantagenets, this didn’t do much for me.
Okay, but not great.

2.5*. This repeated a lot of the same ground covered in other novels in this series. The characters were flat and dull. The last few hours actually was quite good, and I was tempted to round up to three stars, but reminded myself that the rest was very long.

What a simply fascinating and amazing book - one that I have enjoyed start to finish. Having new nothing about the story of Margaret pole, and her family along with new parts of the plights of Katherine and Mary I found this interesting and enjoyable !

Suspenseful and engaging with well-developed characters, description that envelopes the reader and plenty of action. This novel follows the Tudors and Plantagenets as they struggle with power, intrigue and violence in pursuit of the crown.

This was simply fantastic. It read like a thriller, and I had a hard time putting it down. I was emotionally invested in the characters because the writing was deeply personal, and what makes it all the more exciting is that it's all true (or mostly).

If you're a fan of historical fiction, you'll love this novel.

An absolutely amazing read. All the characters are given life be it historical or fictional. The strong women are given their own voice and feelings about the life and times they live in especially when the kings mood grows ever dangerously mad.

You can't deny the amount of research that Philippa Gregory puts into her books.
