DID NOT FINISH

This book is repetitive and the FMC is whiny.

Amazing and capturing

I could not put this book down! I was shocked that I didn’t know Molly had a new book out for months so when I found out I couldn’t stop reading for days til it was over. It’s such a heart warming story

She does it agin. I think that it may be impossible for Molly McAdams to write a bad story.

Everyone was surprised when this one dropped, I don’t think anyone was ready but I jumped right on it. The fact that This surprise story was for the brother that “was overseas.”

The beginning was a little tough for me to get into, only because of Emma’s extreme hatred for Reed, and his profession. Honestly, Emma was hard to like. After the explanations of her past, I understood her reactions to certain triggers, but it took me a while to actually like this character.

Reed on the other hand, SWOON!! Good hearted, hard working, and the love he has for Nora… can I marry him?

Other than a surprise of a book from this author, the other great surprise, is the appearance of Kash and Rachel from the author’s previous works: Forgiving Lies and Deceiving Lies. Full circle moment here.

I really hope the author writes some stories for some spin-off characters.

Slow burn. Not my normal jam as I’m a dark romance reader but hit the spot. This was good, and I read it in one sitting. It’s on kindle unlimited and included on audible as part of your membership 1/2022. Definitely recommend especially if like slow burns and more traditional romances.

I tried, but the book could not keep my attention. I still own the audiobook and might revisit it later, but the book's beginning half was infinitely more captivating than the latter half.

Lie to Me was extremely heartbreaking to say the least. The main character has endured the worst childhood imaginable. After trying to build a new life in New York, Emma runs to the only place she ever felt safe, her grandmother Lala’s house, after something happens to her at work. Here she learns she has a little sister named Nora. She meets Reed Ryan, who is a cop and Nora’s guardian at Lala’s house, and she instantly hates him. He has tattoos and is a coo which represents everything she is afraid of due to childhood trauma. The author did an excellent job developing their love story. Reed was extremely patient and understanding with Emma and never faulted in his love for her. He is there for her when her past comes back to haunt her. The relationship between Emma and her little sister Nora was also very touching.

This book left me swooning. Reed was perfection, and the emotions and reactions of Emma seemed genuine and accurate for a trauma survivor. So happy she got a happily ever after!

Loved it

Reed and Emma’s story is utterly heartbreaking and heartwarming! So much emotion in this book! I loved it! And so want more!
