One of Sawyer's all time favorites. He finds Olivia and her exploits to be super fun!

Read this to my son who adores pigs. The illustrations are great and the dialouge is easy for any kid especially early readers.

Any book that can hold my daughter's attention is a good one.

Funnier than I expected. I always stayed away from these books and didn't find them appealing, maybe because of the minimalist colors in the artwork. Who really knows, but this was actually funny, and a good choice for our "Letter O" alphabet series story time.

What a charming book! I am so lucky to have snagged it from a Little Free Library 😊 It's no wonder it is a Caldecott honor book, what with how beautiful, elegant, and skillfully reserved the illustrations are. The character designs for Olivia and her family are so lovable. My favorite parts are the truly pig-like legs, the huge mouths, and the tiny eyes. So expressive! Seeing these characters engaging in all kinds of activities, from dress-up to art-making, is mesmerizing. The writing is spot on, as well. I laughed out loud a couple times! I added the Olivia box set to my wishlist; I want to read all of her adventures!

Less weird than the sequel I read first, but I still don't quite get it. Laughed at "40 very loud songs" though.

(Read with little sister as part of the "1,001 Children's Books To Read")

I really dug the colors the illustrations were comprised of (red, black, white) and she was one cool pig. I liked it.

I love how classical paintings are incorporated into the illustrations. I loved Degas as a kid and did a report on him in 5th grade.

My son loved this book so much that we named our daughter Olivia ;)

Olivia's sass and imagination are outstanding. An excellent read for little boys and girls alike!
