3.5 this book is a fast read with a good old school ghost tale. I feel it is very much of its time through the way it is written. I did enjoy it and all the events describing the woman however there aren't that many moment with her, small glimpses but never chilling. That is untill the end. The 2012 film is better as a whole however the book's ending while similar gave me a chill. Was tempted to give 4 stars however I feel it was lacking
